In order to enrich the amateur cultural life of the faculty, promote the physical and mental health of the faculty, build a platform for badminton enthusiasts, and improve the badminton level of the faculty, Beijing Institute of Technology 2024 Faculty Badminton Team Competition officially kicked off in Zhongguancun Gymnasium on May 25。The competition was organized by the school trade union and hosted by the Faculty Badminton Association。

The badminton team competition is one of the traditional sports events of BTECH, which is welcomed and loved by the faculty and staff of BTECH。In order to further encourage the majority of staff to participate in the competition, units with grassroots trade union members of less than 150 are allowed to voluntarily form a team to register for the competition。The 2024 Faculty Badminton Team Competition has a total of 17 teams representing 20 grassroots trade unions and about 200 faculty members participating。

The competition is divided into four groups, with the first stage featuring group round-robin matches and the second stage featuring knockout matches, namely the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals。

On the court, the players of each team are united, hard work, flexible use of various tactics, their eyes are firm, light step, the high ball, lob, smash, split and other aspects of the ball to show the most incisively and vividly, not only reflects the exquisite skills, but also shows the speed, strength, flexibility and strategy and tactics。The atmosphere of the arena is active, the climax is continuous, and the applause and cheers rise one after another, which also fully reflects the purpose of the competition of "friendship first, competition second, physical and mental pleasure, and strengthening exchanges"。

After a day of fierce competition, the union of the School of Materials won the champion, the union of the School of Computer won the second place, the union of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering won the third place, and the union of the asset management company won the fourth place。Gao Weitao, Executive vice chairman of the school trade union, and Sun Fei, vice chairman, presented awards to the winning teams。

Through this competition, not only witnessed the excellent performance of the faculty and staff in sports competitions, but also interpreted the fighting spirit of Beili people with practical actions, and accumulated strength for the construction of the school's "double first-class"。
