On the morning of January 11, the "Special Forum" - Overseas Young Scholars Forum of Beijing Institute of Technology was grandly kicked off in the International Exchange Center of the school。President Hu Haiyan Academician, Vice President Professor Yang Shuxing attended the opening ceremony, from 12 countries (regions) overseas young scholars, young teachers representatives of our university, heads of professional colleges and relevant functional departments a total of more than 100 people attended the opening ceremony。The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Vice President Professor Chen Jie。
 

 

　　Academician Hu Haiyan, President of the University, delivered a speech on behalf of the university, welcoming outstanding overseas young scholars to the university for exchange and discussion。President Hu explained the connotation of the school's establishment of the "Special Forum", reviewed the old president Mr. Xu Teli's overseas study and growth experience, and encouraged young scholars to seize the historical opportunity to return home after learning。Vice President Professor Yang Shuxing introduced the history, discipline construction and teaching staff of the university, focusing on the university's support policy for the introduction of talents and the training system for young talents。
 

 

　　After the opening ceremony, the special invited report of the forum was presided over by Professor Tao Ran, a Changjiang scholar and winner of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund。Professor Huang Qiang, a Changjiang scholar and winner of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, made a report entitled "Research and Development of Huitong Series humanoid Robots";Professor Qu Liangti, Changjiang Scholar and winner of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, made a report entitled "Graphene Research";Associate Professor Jia Baohua from Swinburne University of Technology in Australia gave a report entitled Graphene photonic devices.Dr. Yaqiang Wang, University of California, Los Angeles, USA, gave a report entitled "NMR Spectroscopy and its Application to Biomacromolecular Systems";Dr. Hu Shi from Pennsylvania State University in the United States made a report entitled Ultrathin Nanostructures at All Scales.Professor Wang Bo gave a report entitled "Research on thin film and Device of metal-organic skeleton materials"。
 

 

　　The forum lasted for one and a half days and set up two sub-forums, "Materials, Chemistry field" and "Machinery, Information field", chaired by Professor Wang Bo and Professor Zhou Tianfeng respectively。
 

 

　　Overseas young scholars attending the conference introduced their academic research and discussed and exchanged cutting-edge issues in related disciplines。
 

 

　　The young scholars visited the Liangxiang Campus, some colleges introduced the academic characteristics, platform conditions and talent needs of the college, and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions with the participating overseas young scholars。
 

　　As the first Overseas Young Scholars Forum, the Forum attracted more than 220 young scholars from overseas, among whom more than 160 obtained doctoral degrees from well-known overseas universities。After selection, nearly 40 overseas young scholars from the United States, Germany, Australia, Japan, France, Canada, Hong Kong and other countries and regions were invited to attend the conference。
 

　　The "Special Forum" of Beijing Institute of Technology - Overseas Young Scholars Forum aims to gather a group of outstanding young talents active in the international scientific frontier or hot research fields around the world, through academic reports and discussions, to inspire each other, broaden their horizons, enhance international exchanges and cooperation, and promote interdisciplinary innovation。The successful holding of the forum will promote overseas scholars to have a deeper understanding of the school-running characteristics of our university, enhance the influence of our university among overseas young scholars, attract more outstanding young talents at home and abroad to join us, and jointly build the "Chinese dream, the dream of BTU".。
